greek beans

Share now

Inspired by the traditional Greek dish Gigantes Plaki (meaning “giant baked beans”), this delicious recipe brings Mediterranean flavours to little taste buds. Creamy butter beans are gently cooked in a rich tomato sauce with herbs, dill and a subtle hint of anise for a tasty, comforting meal.

What do we love about our greek beans?

This wholesome dish provides 1.5 of a child’s 5-a-day and an impressive 6.5 plant points, making it a fantastically nourishing way to increase dietary variety for little ones.

Butterbeans provide plant-based protein and fibre, while tomatoes and red peppers add vitamin C to support iron absorption. Mediterranean herbs, smoked paprika and aniseed bring delicious flavour and introduce children to new cuisines.

We recommend serving this dish with our wheat and rye bread to soak up the delicious tomato sauce, creating a colourful, balanced meal that’s packed with flavour and goodness.
